Project Portfolio

Restaurants & Clubs

DeRosa Corporation

Joe DeRosa, Wisconsin Restauranteur of the Year, uses his family restaurants – The Chancery, International House of Pancakes, Jose's Blue Sombrero, and the upscale Eddie Martini's – to leverage his inner-city ministry at Milwaukee's HeartLove Place and other Christian endeavors. Boelter is pleased to have partnered with him for many years.

Bacchus – A Bartolotta Restaurant

Located in Milwaukee’s historic Cudahy Tower, Bacchus is a sleek, stylish restaurant made to order for its prestigious setting. The challenge with this project was to transform an existing, outmoded kitchen into one that would engender the Bartolotta’s high culinary standards. One that would keep the front of the house working to perfection by allowing Bacchus chefs to be creative and inventive on even the most frenzied night. To achieve this goal, the Boelter Commercial Kitchen Design Team created a masterpiece of “mise on place” – "everything in its place" – that provides efficient, ready access to everything they need to transform simple ingredients into an unforgettable dining experience.

Lake Park Bistro

Boelter teamed with James Beard Award Winning Chef, Adam Siegel, to create an open kitchen that is a major Midwest attraction.

Mr. B’s Steakhouse

Boelter transformed another dated kitchen into an unparalleled steak and seafood restaurant in suburban Milwaukee.

Ristorante Bartolotta

The original Bartolotta Restaurant serving Italian cuisine was Bartolotta’s first Boelter experience that evolved into a strategic alliance.

This new, high-tech hospital is located in the Town of Summit. It includes a Boelter production kitchen and servery to support 110 patient beds, and medical offices.

Central DuPage Hospital, DuPage, IL

The transformation of the servery and support kitchens was a major renovation for this 361-bed hospital in the heart of America’s heartland. The Boelter Commercial Kitchen Design team’s challenge was not only to create a totally new look and functionality for both areas, but to accomplish it without interrupting the day-to-day operations of the existing kitchens and cafeteria. Planning was the key, and Boelter carefully orchestrated every detail. By skillfully managing incoming equipment deliveries and installation schedules, the Boelter team worked around the needs of the kitchen staff, so meals for hospital personnel, patients and visitors went on without skipping a beat.

Business & Industry

Acuity Insurance

For Acuity’s expansion project, Boelter Commercial Kitchen Design presented a new cafeteria concept. 'Scatter design' eliminates traditional cafeteria lines, instead creating food theme areas that offer immediate choices. Customers can visit the salad bar, grill area and other food stations and select the menu items. It’s as easy and efficient for the staff as it is for the customers. Their culinary pros give it five stars.

G.E. Healthcare

In keeping with GE Healthcare’s innovative approach to product research and development, the Boelter Commercial Kitchen Design team focused on innovation as the key design strategy for the facility’s new cafeteria. Display/cooking stations take center stage. Fire & Ice stations display ingredients, keeping them cool until they are selected. Customers choose their favorite foods and watch them being prepared to their taste. In addition to offering an array of fresh and appealing ingredients, the concept encourages healthy meal choices.

Harpo Studios

Home to the Oprah Winfrey Show, Harpo Studios is a landmark of the west loop of Chicago. Across the street from the main building, an employee cafe and dining room serves breakfast and lunch. Small but efficient, the kitchen churns out volumes of great food, thanks in large part to the Boelter team.

Campbell's Soup

Campbell’s Soup Company, the largest soup supplier in the world for over 125 years, headquartered in Camden, New Jersey, selected Boelter Contracting as the foodservice equipment supplier for the company’s new $90 million LEED-certified addition to their World Headquarters building. Boelter will be supplying and installing in excess of $1.7 million worth of ventilation hoods, cooler and freezer food storage units, various cooking equipment and custom stainless steel chef’s cooking lines, together with custom millwork serveries for the estimated 1,200 employees who will be occupying the new facility, with a planned opening of February 2010.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE)

With the help of the Boelter design team, MSOE's Kern Center in Milwaukee, WI offers mulltiple foodservice venues, including a juice bar, concessions and a catering kitchen.

Valparaiso Student Union

The new state-of-the-art Student Union Building is designed to be central hub for student activity on campus. The facility has a breathtaking ballroom space and two student dining/meeting/recreation areas. These spaces are supported by a centralized production commissary, an exquisite main serving area and a charming cafe/emporium space. All of the existing foodservice venues on campus will be replaced by the opening of the new Union Building, thus centralizing and unifying life on campus. In a Letter of Commendation dated January 1, 2009, Fred Plant, Executive Director, Facilities Management, said, "A third area that garnered respect was how they handled the difficult moments. My experience is that what separates the praiseworthy from the mundane is how an individual or company handles difficulty. Brett and Rich avoided a lot of common mistakes by communicating early and often, good news and troublesome news."

USS Freedom LCS 1 – Littoral Combat Ship

A new breed of U.S. Navy warship – 378 foot, designed to help defeat close-to-shore threats. USS Freedom is fast – reaching speeds over 40 knots (46mph), maneuverable, and is a networked surface combatant with operational flexibility to execute focused missions such as mine warfare, anti-submarine warfare, surface warfare and humanitarian/disaster relief. Boelter designed and provided the galley equipment for a core crew fewer than 50, with accommodations up to 75.
