UNION COUNTY: SEAMLESS WALK-IN COOLER REPLACEMENT

Location:
Blairsville, GA

Scope:
Walk-in Cooler Replacement

The Boelter team understands that every project is important, no matter how big or how small. When Union Primary School in Blairsville, GA., underwent an extensive renovation in the summer of 2022, the staff took advantage of the construction going on in other parts of the school to also replace the walk-in cooler in the kitchen. The school system’s general contractor, Charles Black Construction Company, knew from previous projects the knowledge, experience and reliability of Boelter for sourcing equipment would be the perfect fit for this job.

“There was a lot going on with this project and we were under a time crunch to get everything ready for school to start at the end of summer,” says CJ McDonald, project manager, Charles Black Construction. “It was good to have Boelter taking care of the equipment so we could focus on other areas.”

Russ Streett, project manager for Boelter, worked with the supplier to get a walk-in cooler replacement sourced and fully installed before school started. At the time, many equipment suppliers were working with six-month lead times, but Boelter’s relationships within the industry helped move the process along.

Even still, there was a gap between when the first delivery of food was arriving at school and the delivery and installation date of the new refrigeration. Streett worked with a local company to provide temporary storage until the new equipment arrived. And by the first day of school, the walk-in cooler was installed and running in time for kitchen staff to prepare meals for all the students.
