Since opening in Fall 2020, the Saint Louis University Hospital will offer private inpatient and convenient outpatient services, as well as an emergency department and trauma center capable of managing the critical care of 75 outlying partner clinics and nearly 50,000 patients annually. This new facility will reach a 250-mile radius across Missouri and Illinois.
Boelter worked closely with the general contractor and ownership group of the St. Louis University Hospital project. Over the course of more than a year, Rick Garavaglia and his team (Mary Gildea, Bob Hamman and Ron Marts) evaluated the initial designs and provided the solutions and equipment installation to complete the hospital's kitchen, servery and physician lounges that are spread throughout the 802,000 square foot complex.
Boelter's efforts focused on enabling the staff of the kitchen to efficiently serve large numbers of visitors and in-patients throughout the day. The separate lounges were created to provide a space for physicians to meet privately and take a break from treating patients.
