Purpose

Boelter’s creative services are a key part of how we partner with customers to bring their brands to life. This policy establishes clear expectations for creative work performed by the Boelter team, ensuring a collaborative, transparent, and sustainable process that reflects our passion for quality, partnership, and customer excellence.

Scope

This policy applies to all creative work including but not limited to:

  • Brand-led product recommendations
  • Mockups and proofs
  • Design explorations and brand adaptations

Artwork Ownership & File Release

  • Customer‑supplied logos and brand assets remain the property of the customer

  • Creative concepts, mockups, and working files created by Boelter remain the property of Boelter

  • Customers receive proofs and mockups for review and approval

  • Editable working files (AI, PSD, etc.) are released only after an order commitment or through a separate design release arrangement

In-House Creative Work

Boelter may provide a limited amount of creative work prior to an order commitment to help customers evaluate concepts and possibilities.

Creative turnaround timelines vary based on:

  • Scope of the ask
  • Quality of assets provided

  • Clarity of direction

Clear direction and complete brand assets allow projects to move faster, while more exploratory requests may require additional time. Estimated timelines will be shared once scope and inputs are confirmed.

Creative work includes:

  • Conceptual designs and mockups

  • Non‑final artwork intended for review and discussion

  • Visual representations used for quoting and approval

To keep expectations clear and customer‑friendly, creative work prior to order commitment is grouped into Creative Effort Tiers, described below.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects include initial concepts and up to two rounds of revisions for all Boelter partners at no additional charge. Hourly design fees apply after the second round of revisions.

Tier 1: Standard Creative Services

What this looks like: Customer provides complete brand guidelines and/or comparable brand assets in vector format (logos, colors, fonts, usage rules) along with clear direction or reference examples; minimal creative exploration required

Examples: Applying existing brand standards to core promotional items with light layout or sizing adjustments; typically, straightforward mockups based closely on supplied direction

Tier 2: Advanced Creative Ideation

What this looks like: Brand guidelines are provided, but execution direction is limited or open‑ended. Some exploration required to determine layout, hierarchy, or visual balance; creative interpretation within an established brand system

Examples: Translating brand guidelines to product applications without reference examples, often exploring multiple layout options to refine direction and adjusting brand elements to meet print or production constraints

When possible, we’re happy to collaborate with your existing agency or work from established brand guidelines to ensure your custom products stay on brand and production ready.

Revision Process

To support collaboration while maintaining efficiency, Boelter includes:

  • Up to two (2) rounds of revisions as part of pre‑order creative work

A revision round consists of consolidated feedback addressing reasonable adjustments to layout, color, copy placement, or overall direction based on the original concept.

Revisions should be submitted in a single, consolidated set of comments and aligned with the original creative direction and customer‑supplied brand assets

Additional Revisions & Associated Fees

For Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects, once the two included revision rounds have been exhausted, additional creative work will be billed as an hourly design service at a rate of $125.00 per hour.

This hourly rate is reflective of our team’s specialized beverage branding expertise and production‑ready design knowledge. The applicable rate and estimated hours will be communicated and approved prior to any additional work beginning.

Redraw Fees

In some cases, customer-supplied artwork must be redrawn to meet production requirements. This most often occurs when non-vector files (such as JPG, PNG, or low-resolution files) are provided and no suitable alternative is available. When this happens, our team will alert the customer and request an alternate file if possible.

If no alternate version is available, the customer may elect to proceed with an artwork redraw. A flat redraw fee of $80.00 will apply, which includes up to one (1) hour of design time. Any required redraw work will be communicated and approved prior to starting.

This process ensures artwork meets production standards while maintaining quality and consistency in the final product.

Third Party Creative Work

Certain creative requests require specialized expertise beyond Boelter’s in-house capabilities. In these cases, Boelter may engage trusted third-party vendors to support the creative and engineering process.

When third-party creative services are used:

  •  All custom molded items as well as custom designs that require structural or engineering input
  • Display pieces that involve fabrication, load-bearing, or installation considerations
  • Custom tap handles requiring mold, material, or functional engineering
  • Products that include electrical components, such as illuminated signage

Boelter remains the customer’s primary point of contact and will manage the process from start to finish. Vendor creative teams may contribute structural drawings, renderings, or technical specifications required for production. Because this work involves additional technical review and coordination, timelines and revision flexibility may be influenced by vendor processes and requirements.

Engaging third-party creative partners allows Boelter to deliver safe, functional, and high-quality custom solutions while maintaining accountability and transparency throughout the process.

Outside of Scope

Boelter’s creative services are focused on bringing branded products to life. Some types of creative work fall outside our scope and are better handled by specialized agencies or partners.

These include:

  •  Full brand development or rebrands (naming, logos, brand identity systems)

  •  Marketing campaigns, advertising concepts, or content strategy

  •  Ongoing graphic design support unrelated to product or production

  •  Custom illustration or complex digital imaging

  •  Digital experiences such as websites, apps, or motion graphics
